How the rental process works

For better organization, we recommend booking your boat early in the morning so you can fully enjoy our different packages. Due to the high number of visitors in summer, you’ll be among the first to reach the picnic areas and swimming spots on Lake Esparron. Early birds are welcome!

Children over the age of twelve are considered adults for insurance purposes.

Practical information

Golden rule: let us know quickly; if we don’t hear from you, your boat will be rented out again. For organizational reasons, we keep the boats at the dock for 30 minutes.

Yes, wheelchair access to the boat is possible, and our team is here to assist you.

We accept bank cards, “Chèques-Vacances”, and “Chèques-Vacances Connect”. However, we no longer accept cheques due to numerous unpaid payments.

In low season, payment is made upon return, based on the actual time spent on the water. Please remember to take weather conditions into account (wind and water release from the nearby dam). In high season, for organizational reasons, payment is made before departure.

No, but an ID will be required for the rental.

Yes, but the size of the boat may be adjusted depending on the dog’s size.

Yes, it is essential in high season (June 1 to September 20) and recommended on weekends, public holidays, and school holidays during the low season.

Fishing

Yes, provided you have a valid fishing license; trolling is prohibited. You will mainly find roach, pike, trout, and perch.

Safety

Yes, by mobile phone when the network is sufficient. Part of the gorges has no coverage, but you have an emergency number in each boat.

Yes, they are mandatory. Children leave equipped by us with life jackets adapted to their size. As for equipment, you will find on board: adult life jackets, oars with a boat hook, a bailer, and a mooring line.

No, life jackets adapted to their size are provided. You can safely place the infant car seat on board our boats.

No, this could make you liable; certain skills are necessary to navigate the gorges safely. Only an adult is allowed to pilot.

They have between 8 and 10 hours of autonomy.

Piloting them is simple and intuitive. At each departure, we provide a 10-minute training session for better handling. The navigation and safety rules will be explained so you can navigate the gorges safely.

Yes, all our boats are equipped with removable canopies, essential in the middle of summer.

No, it is not necessary. The boats’ power is less than 6 hp.

Possible tours

Yes, at the tip of the neighborhood or at Saint-Julien, an easily accessible beach.

It is recommended to prepare your picnic before your excursion, but you can eat in the village of Esparron (10 minutes on foot) or at Saint Julien beach (snack bar).

The tip of the neighborhood and the dining area upon your arrival at Lake Esparron. A map with all the details is available on board the boats.

Yes, some areas are prohibited, particularly in front of EDF sites (dam, intake). Buoys are put in place to prevent access.

12°C at the starting point in Quinson; the water is very cold due to the proximity of the Quinson dam. On Lake Esparron it can reach 26°C in the middle of summer. For your safety, swimming at the Quinson starting point and jumping from the rocks are prohibited (risk of hydrocution).

Landing is prohibited; you are entering a NATURA 2000 protected area, but swimming is allowed from the boat’s swim ladder. Landing is however permitted anywhere on Lake Esparron for picnicking and swimming.

There are 9 km of walking in the Verdon gorges, plus a walk on Lake Esparron, so you should plan a full-day package to complete the entire tour (see our different packages and rates).
