The Different Boat Trips

We offer several boat trips in the Lower Verdon Gorges. Check the details of our different routes to choose yours and discover unique landscapes.

3 h - Discovery Package

3 h – Discovery Package

Duration: 3 h round trip
Distance: 18 km

Allows you to explore the entire Gorges (round trip) up to Esparron without stopping, and to see the various prehistoric caves described below:

  • (3) Sainte Maxime Cave (1 h round trip): you can still see the black smoke marks on the cave’s facade, evidence of prehistoric hearths.
  • (4) The Walled Cave (1 h 30 round trip): according to legend, walled up in the 18th century by Gaspard de Besse. It was later used by charcoal makers who produced charcoal on the Séouve plateau.
  • (5) The Bat Cave (2 h round trip): closed off by a protective gate, it shelters several species of bats.
  • (6) The Inca Hut (2 h 15 round trip): a former lock keeper’s shelter, decorated by an unknown artist with a fresco representing an Inca. It contains many messages left by passing visitors.
  • (7) The Bear Cave (2 h 30 round trip): numerous archaeological discoveries have been made here. Besides its prehistoric past, it served as an arms cache for the Resistance during the last war.
  • (8) Lake and Village of Esparron (3 h round trip): a typical Provençal village with its château still inhabited by the Count of Castellane.
5 h - Relaxation Package

5 h – Relaxation Package

Duration: 5 h round trip
Distance: 20 km

Allows you to explore the entire Gorges (round trip) up to Lake Esparron and see the various prehistoric caves. You have two hours available for a picnic and swimming (water temperature: 26°C in summer). Ideal picnic spot: (9) the Pointe du Quartier.

8 h - Full-Day Package

8 h – Full-Day Package

Duration: 8 h round trip
Distance: 18 to 22 km

Allows you to explore the entire Gorges (round trip) up to Lake Esparron, navigate on the lake, and enjoy a full day of swimming. You can have lunch at a restaurant or snack bar in Esparron or at St Julien beach. Possible docking and recharging at the friendly pontoons of Alizé Electronic in Esparron (8) or at St Julien beach (10).
